My 1st date with the wand

I took step # 3 today and I had my first ever u/s. Now this was not exactly the circumstance under which I imagined my 1st u/s would be, but all in all it went as well as can be expected. 1st off let me say the u/s tech lady was awesome! she was super enthusastic, explained things pretty well (even if she was a fast talker), she was gentle and firm at the same time, really seemed to be on my side. she was super happy to hear that I charted which was cool :)

She told she'd be looking for cysts, fibriods, polyps, etc...she said if there was anything to be seen, we'd see it. There was a screen hung on the wall in front of me so I could see everything. she explained what she was looking for (anatomy parts) and if things were normal. she asked where I was in my cycle and since I'm anywhere between 12 and 14 dpo she said everything looked exactly like it should. in her words I am perfect down there. she said my lining was thickening as it should be so that was good news for when I do get pg.

She also said my b/w results were in my chart but since the doc wasn't in the office today he hasn't seen them yet. he'll be in the next 2 days so I'll probably call tomorrow afternoon cuz I'm really anxious to find that out. I asked for a copy of the results too, she said I can have them after the doc looks at them.

Then she went and found the nurse who works with my doctor to make sure she was going to start the insurance paperwork for the HSG and s/a.
she seems like a great advocate to keeping things moving and if I get my period (she said let's hope we don't have to take this infertilty testing any further :)

She said that if/when I do get my period I should call to set up the HSG as that can be done any day up to CD 10. so that's a nice big window to work with and hopefully I won't miss the oppurtunity next cycle.

I'm not gonna lie, I was hoping against hope that I was wrong on my O date (my last period started on 10/28) and she's see a little sac floating around in there. :) haha, I'm such an optimist sometimes it's scary :)
